Incident with flight DE-3665 occurred during takeoff in Corfu, Greece, when the right engine experienced explosions and flames.
The crew aborted the climb at 8,000 feet about 30 minutes post-departure and landed safely in Italy.
The aircraft, registered as D-ABOK, belongs to the German airline Condor. According to news portal Aeroin, the plane remained in Italy while another Boeing 757-300 was dispatched to Brindisi to transport passengers to Düsseldorf.
The second aircraft, registered D-ABOI, arrived at its destination with a delay of approximately 15 hours. The suspected cause of the engine failure is bird ingestion.
Videos shared on social media platform X show light beams from the right engine as the aircraft slowed down.
